Crisis management
Sound crisis management is based on a solid program including simulation exercises close to reality
Crisis management… are you ready?
-
When was the last crisis that you have had to manage/control?
-
Did you do it effectively?
-
How much did it cost you?
-
Have there been any impacts for the safety of your employees, your products, the reputation of your company, etc.?
What does your plan cover and who is responsible for implementing it?
Does your crisis management plan or emergency measures include the main scenarios that could affect your establishments? … in your region? … By the way, have you identified the potential problems that may arise in order to establish the measures to be applied in the event of a crisis ?
Who is responsible for crisis management in your establishments? When was the last exercise/simulation on one of the potential scenarios in your crisis management plan?
Do you do simulations?
Are the exercises/stress tests and are the actual crisis documented ? If so, by whom and how? Are you able to learn lessons and improve your efficiency in managing crisis and incidents , even if it's only from the point of view of safety , health or minimizing costs and impacts for your business?
If you don't do any of these; now is the time to start. Nothing better than practicing to know what to do in case of the unexpected. It is important that it becomes a reflex, actions that we will be taken methodically avoiding too often quick decisions taken in time of emotions or circumstances that are not so difficult to resolve once we know what to do and how to intervene.
An integrated plan: a good idea
Do you have an integrated crisis management plan or do you have several separate plans, for example one for fires, one for spills, one for recalls? Have you ever evaluated the benefits of bringing together your different crisis management plans into one ?
The well-organized and efficient management of crisis and incidents can allow you, among other things, to:
-
Provide a safer working environment for your employees
-
Maximize compliance with regulatory and customer compliance requirements
-
Manufacture products in an environment that minimizes the risk of contamination and preserves their integrity
-
To minimize the financial impacts as well as to preserve your reputation
We are able to help you develop, implement or improve your crisis management plan or emergency measures so that you are able to comply with regulatory and normative compliance requirements and those of your customers ( including those stipulated in the GFSI standards). This will simplify/streamline your approach in order to improve your flexibility , to have a better idea of how to handle crisis situations, to limit and ideally avoid improvisation in order to make the right decisions in these difficult moments while minimizing costs and saving money.
